Executive Chef Chris Starkus’ Heath-Conscious Picks for the New Year

After treating yourself to the heavy, soul-satisfying food of the holidays are you ready for some lighter, healthier food options? We’re with you! And while staying away from fried and fatty foods while eating out might seem like a challenge, Executive Chef Chris Starkus is outlining his favorite fresh, filling, and health-conscience Urban Farmer dishes so you can take the guesswork out of ordering.

Breakfast:

Opt for the Coconut Chia & Seed Panna Cotta. It might sound luxurious and dessert-like (and trust us, it tastes like it!), but this dish features good-for-you ingredients like pecan, mint, fresh berries, and chia seeds, without any hidden calorie crevices.

Weekend Brunch:

Go with the Avocado Toast. With plenty of healthy fats from the avocado and topped with a filling poached egg, this toast also features bee pollen and honey from our rooftop beehives as well as crispy quinoa.

Lunch:

Spring for the Local Greens salad with chicken or prawns. Shaved vegetables, crispy quinoa (once again!), and a vinaigrette made with local honey. The only thing this salad is missing is a protein component to keep you full throughout the day. Add a chicken breast or a few prawns and you’ll be good to go.

Dinner:

If you’re looking for a tried-and-true health food with an Urban Farmer twist, look no further than our Salmon dish. Plated with plum butter, kuri squash, salsify, and purple kale—trust us, it will not disappoint. However, if you’re looking for a more adventurous dish, our Cobia, complete with black garlic, sweet potato butter, pickled shallot, and a grain salad is the way to go.
